DevLog 8: Skill Tutor 2.0

Happy Saturday Ya'll,

The last week has been focused on finalizing the Skill Tutor Menu to incorporate the changes I spoke on during the last post (DevLog 7) and making them pretty.

Some of the language in menu has been updated as well to be more consistent for spacing, but also better understanding.

So instead of using "Required" when showing prerequisite skills

We use the word "Need"

A minor change that goes a long way for the BIG update. Skill Page Crafting!!!!

Going forward, skills that  prerequisites will have the option to craft a skill page instead.

What does that mean?

Crafting now appears within the same Skill Tutor Menu above the actors.

The "Recipe" needed for crafting a new skill page is based on the skill prerequisites of the Advanced Skills.
Skill Pages can only be crafted if the Advanced Skill normally only requires specific skills to learn. So if they have Element Count prereqs, they cannot be crafted (as of now)

Players will also be able to see how many of each Skill Page they already own, so they can go into purchasing decisions informed.

With the integration of Crafting, Skill Tutors will now be a more robust NPC offering different services to players.  I've decided against the in menu Skill Learn/Crafting. Being a story revolving around Academy Students, I want to be sure that how they learn is academic and guided mechanically as well.

Are you ready to craft?
